The Trail
Suggested as a side walk for visitors of Hastings Caves, Duckhole Lake is an easy 1km return stroll located just outside the Hastings Caves State Reserve. Duckhole Lake itself is a deep flooded sinkhole joined to the prominent surrounding cave network.
The walk travels through rainforest and Stringybark forest via a well-constructed boardwalk and trail, following a stream running off the Lake. Towards the Lake, beautiful tea tree ecosystems provide a lovely spot to stop for lunch.
Artifacts from a 19th century sawmill and tramway can also be discovered along the edges of the trail.
