     
The Octopus Tree is an easy 1km return walk detouring off the Shoobridge Track on Mount Wellington. The tree is an enormous eucalyptus perched with roots bare upon a large boulder. The track is naturally paved and a great short family side walk for visitors to Wellington Park. For walkers wishing to hike for longer, The Shoobridge Track continues on past the Octopus Tree to Junction Cabin Parking is available just below the beginning of the walk on Pinnacle Road.
