The Trail
Nestled in the lower rainforest section of Wellington Park, O’Gradys Falls is a picturesque waterfall worth adding to a kunanyi/Mt Wellington winter’s day trip. The easy 2km trail is primarily flat, with some gentle slopes near the trailhead, and can be completed in less than 45 minutes.
Starting from the Bracken Lane Fire Trail at the start of Pinnacle Road, the trail heads gently downhill via a wide gravel track. After 500m, follow the signpost left and join the O’Gradys Falls Fire Trail. This trail continues for another 500m before reaching the Woods Track and Rivulet Track junction. The O’Gradys Falls is accessed via the poorly signposted route between the two trails.
Once at the falls, the bridge above provides the most impressive view of the waterfall and the surrounding rainforest, including tree ferns and sassafras. Return to the trailhead via the same track.
