Pandani Grove Photos

The Trail

The captivating Pandani Grove Nature Walk is an easy, 30 minute walk around Lake Dobson in the upper sub-alpine section of Mount Field National Park. Leaving from the Lake Dobson carpark, the trail skirts west around the edge of Lake Dobson, passing hidden ski huts, vibrant snowguns and ancient pencil pines.

After a short walk, the trail enters a denser section of sub-alpine forest, and the towering pandanis begin to crowd the path. Walking here is breathtaking, as the endemic pandani surround you in a show of remarkable lush beauty. The trail continues through Pandani Grove for only a few more minutes before reaching Lake Dobson Road. This road takes you back to the Lake Dobson carpark. Towards the end of the trail, a well-established viewing platform offers final views across Lake Dobson.

More adventurous walkers wishing to explore the alpine sections of Mount Field can continue past Lake Dobson to the Tarn Shelf Circuit, Rodway Range Circuit or Mount Field West.
